2. How do I dress for dance class?
Wear anything that is comfortable, breathable and easy to move in.
3. What kind of shoes should I wear?
Wear a shoe with that will stay upon your foot, with a slick sole, and not too high of a heel.
4. What if I have “two-left feet”?
Having “two-left feet” is a myth. Dancing is organized movement which you already familiar with. The key is to move intentionally instead of accidentally which requires balance, practice, and patience for your own personal learning curve. Rest assured that you can expect a tremendous amount of patience from our skilled professionals.
5. How long will it take me to learn?
Everyone has their own personal learning curve. The more consistently you dance the more progress you will find yourself to be making.
6. Which dances are good for beginners?
At Through the Motion we encourage our students to start with which ever dances they want. We also have classes designed to allow you to sample the dances to see which ones you like best.
7. What is best, private or group lessons?
Each have their benefits. A private lesson gives you the opportunity to be on a one-on-one basis with the instructor and gives you the chance to ask as many questions as possible. Group lessons give you the opportunity to experience dancing with different partners which is important for your learning.
