IRENE’S “REAL” LIFE
This is officially my first attempt at blogging about what is “REALLY” going on in my life. It’s 9:19pm on a Saturday night and although I would love to say that I am dressed up, hair did, nails did, make-up on point, and ready to dance the night away…that is not what is “REALLY” the case. I am sitting inside of my dance studio, “Through The Motion Ballroom and Latin Dance,” having just finished up an eleven-hour teaching day, in yoga pants, my favorite-but-slightly tattered “Albert Torres” salsa jacket, hair back in a pony tail, and no make up on. My two kids, Shannon (9 years old) and Edward (1 year old) are at their grandma’s house and I am at work following a new venture into an inspiration that has held my attention since high school…WRITING!!!
In these blogs I plan to share all of the “REALNESS” of what I deal with on a regular basis from five major roles:
1. BEING A MOMMY
2. BEING A WIFE
3. BEING A THREE-YEAR OLD ENTREPRENEUR
4. BEING A TEACHER
5. BEING A DANCER
The struggle is real people!!! I observe myself everyday from these five different positions and often wonder if others have questions like mine:
“How do I effectively balance being a family-woman and an entrepreneur?
“How do I become the example dancer for all of my students when I spend more time focusing on their dancing instead of my own?”
“How do I become financially wealthy and content when I am trying to thrive in an industry where that has not been the trend?”
“How do I achieve all of my goals, hopes, and dreams before I burn out from exhaustion?”
These are some of the “REAL” topics that I plan to cover and share in these new blogs that I will be posting each week. Any feedback is welcome and please comment to let me know if you can relate with some of these issues and if the material is helping you in any way.
